I’m Shibatus Bhattacharjee, a tea enthusiast, currently serving as the Head of IT at Kapnapahar Tea Estate. Over the years, my work has deeply connected me with the rich and intricate world of tea — not just as a product, but as a culture, a livelihood, and a constantly evolving industry.
The complexity of the withering process fascinated me alongside natural interest in the tea industry, I believed there was a need for an platform where I could investigate and share innumerable aspects of tea — from cultivation methods and estate technology to market trends, history, innovation, and sustainability.
TeaAlbum was that dream realized.
Much like a classic album compiles important photos, moments, and tales, TeaAlbum is an internet book of blog posts that will discuss a number of aspects of the tea industry. Based on fact-gathering, eyewitness testimony, and on-the-ground reporting, the blog will aim to inform, motivate, and stimulate dialogue — not just for tea trade professionals but also for anyone who is curious about the world behind the cup.
I hope this platform will be an enriching experience of learning — for me, and hopefully for you as well.
Let's ferment some ideas together.
